The Thriving Artist Review
Rating:

Since I was a child I’ve enjoyed art and I minored in it at college. But in terms of making a business out of it, it’s been pretty hard. Like many artistic people, I just haven’t got a business mind – at least that’s what I though until I got this course.
It was a colleague of mine from work, who is also an amateur artist that gave me her copy to listen to. But I was still very sceptical at first. You see, I’ve bought online videos about self-marketing but not much came out of it for me. So I had literally given up the idea that my art would ever be anything more than a personal enjoyment.
But my experience with How to Sell Your Art without Selling Out has been awesome, to say the least. For the first time in years I’ve sold several pieces in one month which normally takes me forever to do – and I made a profit on all of them. So this course really does work.
Some of the other things I really enjoyed about the How to Sell Your Art without Selling Out course is that Steve Popkin covers key issues that I’ve faced in my many attempts to promote and sell my art – getting name recognition, regular clients, sales tricks, and pricing.
Since Steve is an artist but with great business skills he understands the dilemma that struggling artists face, and addresses those dilemmas completely.
This program taught me essential art-selling stuff that I never thought about or knew; things like:
- Client databases,
- Entry-level prices
- Targeting the right customers for the right prices
- Outsourcing and the customer buying habits.
Also, I like the way the course is divided into several sections which is perfect for business dummies like me. You get to digest everything at a slow steady pace so that you master it all and you’re almost guaranteed not to go wrong.
Some other small advantages of this course are that a couple of times I was able to follow it during my commute to and from work. That was a great way to spend time in traffic.
$97 might sound like a ton of money to spend but I tell you its absolute value for money in terms of all the content it content and material. It’s a one-time investment that you can so easily re-coup it with your first sale.
Now this is not a magic formula for selling art instantly – you have to put in time and effort the same way you do when you’re creating your art pieces. But the information, techniques and advice are priceless. I would definitely recommend it to any serious artist who is also serious about learning how to sell their own art. The success I’ve had over the last 6 months has made me consider leaving quitting my day job and focusing on art full time. That’s not something I’ve even dared to think about in years. Thanks Steve, with How to Sell Your Art without Selling Out you’ve given me back my passion in more ways than you can imagine.
