There is nothing harder than learning to paint with watercolors. In fact, it is not just hard… it is almost impossible to do if you have no artistic or painting experience. Believe me, I know. It almost caused me to drop out of college because I just could not “get it.”
I had always worked in the more controlled substances like oil and acrylic, easy mediums that are easy to fake as you just paint over each mistake you make. When I transferred over to the watercolor class, I eventually became in deep trouble. When I finally went to the head of the art department, threatening to walk out, he gave me two weeks.
